Customers can opt to pay extra for a Wi-Fi router from MyRepublic or a cheaper no-frills plan where you use a compatible Wi-Fi router that you already own.
So, how do these plans stack up against the competition? Read on to find out.
MyRepublic broadband plans
All MyRepublic fibre broadband plans include a home phone with unlimited calls, plus no throttling for peer-to-peer downloads, including BitTorrent. Most MyRepublic plans have 24-month contracts, but there is one no-contract 3Gbps fibre broadband plan. MyRepublic fibre broadband plans can be bundled with a Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7 router, or you can save some money by opting for a no-frills plan and bringing your own router.
MyRepublic plans are split into 3Gbps plans and 10Gbps plans. We'll start with a look at their 3Gbps plans.
For a 3Gbps plan, you're looking at a minimum of $30.99 per month (plus $120.94 upfront), and you also get a TP-Link Wi-Fi 7 router, or you can pay more for a D-Link, QNAP or mesh router system. Interestingly, the no-frills plan is currently more expensive at $34.99 and comes with the same $120.94 upfront fee.
Not keen on being locked into a contract? The 3Gbps Ultra No Contract plan is pricier than its 24-month counterparts, but much more flexible. It costs $49.99 per month (and $302.97 upfront) and includes a $150 router discount, should you choose not to bring your own.
If you're an avid gamer, consider a 3Gbps GAMER plan. It has its own dedicated IP address range, meaning your connection will be prioritised and optimised for the best gaming performance. You can also get real-time updates on server quality and network latency. 3Gbps GAMER plans start from $45.99 plus $61.04 upfront for a BYO router plan, with prices increasing depending on your choice of router.
Now, onto MyRepublic's 10Gbps plans.
For those who need a bit more speed, MyRepublic offers a bunch of 10Gbps plans which follow a similar structure to its 3Gbps plans. First up is the No Frills plan, which costs $47.99 per month and $120.94 upfront, but you'll need to bring your own router.
If you want a bundled router, you're looking at prices starting from $39.99 per month and $170.94 upfront, with higher monthly fees for extra routers or other device or entertainment add-ons.
Gamers can take advantage of the GAMER 10Gbps plan at $49.99 per month (for the first six months, then $59.99) and $61.04 upfront and benefit from a dedicated IP address range, prioritised traffic, real-time latency monitoring and a TP-Link Archer Wi-Fi gaming router. Monthly fees increase if you opt for an ASUS ROG router or a two-router mesh system.
