WhistleOut Singapore : Editorial Ethics

WhistleOut is dedicated to simplifying complex purchasing decisions for Singaporeans. We provide clear, easy-to-understand information and comparison tools, helping you to choose the best products and services to meet your needs. From telco plans to health insurance, we present the facts so you can make confident choices.

Independence

WhistleOut Singapore’s editorial team is separate from WhistleOut's commercial team. The news, reviews, analysis, opinions, and guides published by WhistleOut’s editorial team are done so independently of the business’s commercial arm and the brands we cover.

While WhistleOut has commercial relationships with phone and internet providers, these do not affect our editorial content or the recommendations we provide on our website. We do not allow phone and internet providers to dictate our editorial coverage. Similarly, we do not take payment from brands for product reviews or news coverage.

On occasion, WhistleOut might accept travel expenses by a brand to cover an event, or publish sponsored content. If this is the case, it will be clearly disclosed in the relevant story.

When a brand covers the cost of travel and/or other expenses for an out-of-state or overseas event, WhistleOut does not guarantee positive coverage for said brand. Travel contributions and any other potential conflicts of interest are disclosed at the end of each relevant story.

When WhistleOut publishes sponsored content, the fact that it is paid for is disclosed at the beginning of the story. Sponsored content does not reflect the views of WhistleOut's editorial team.

Objectivity

WhistleOut Singapore's editorial team takes a newsroom approach to content and aims to publish objective, unbiased stories. When publishing news, we regularly seek comment from the people and brands we cover, and will showcase multiple perspectives where appropriate.

Naturally, some of the content published by WhistleOut's editorial team is informed by personal opinion. This can include reviews, recommendation guides, and opinion content. Our editors still strive for fairness when writing these styles of pieces, and provide clear justification for their opinions – whether positive or negative. ting. Because an informed reader is an empowered one, and that's always been the point.

Accuracy

WhistleOut Singapore's editorial team makes every effort to publish accurate content free from errors. The work we publish goes through a sub-editing process to check for accuracy. If we discover a mistake in a published story, we will update it as quickly as possible and add a notice of correction at the end of the story.

In some cases, with older stories, the copy and the content in our interactive tables, referred to as "widgets", might not align. The plans featured in widgets are audited and updated by our product team on a daily basis. Pricing, speeds, and data allowances can and do change on phone and internet plans, and the most up-to-date information will always be shown in a widget.

This does, however, mean that copy in a story may be out of date compared to what is shown in a widget. Copy in a story is only accurate as of its "last updated" date, which is visible in the top right corner of an article.

AI Use

WhistleOut Singapore's editorial team does not use generative artificial intelligence tools in the writing and editing of content. All editorial content is written by humans, for humans.
