M1 is one of 7 fibre broadband service providers in Singapore, alongside Singtel, StarHub, SIMBA, MyRepublic, ViewQwest and WhizComms. There are five M1 fibre broadband plans to choose from: 1Gbps, 2.5Gbps, 3Gbps, 6Gbps and 10Gbps speeds. All M1 broadband plans run on a 24-month contract and include a Wi-Fi router, although you can also opt for no router if you have one already.

M1 fibre broadband plans are sold with 24-month contracts and include a home fixed-line voice service and optical network terminal (ONT) activation, plus 4G mobile broadband. All plans include a free Wi-Fi router, but you can also choose to simply keep your existing router. At the time of writing, there's also no upfront fee, which saves you over $100.

M1 sells five different broadband speeds. The current cheapest plan is the HomePac 1Gbps, which starts at $29.90. Here's how it compares to other fibre broadband plans under $30. Note that Singtel, StarHub and MyRepublic do not offer any plans in this price range.

Which M1 fibre broadband speed is best?

Broadband plans in Singapore are among the fastest in the world, though ViewQwest, MyRepublic, Singtel and StarHub typically record faster average speeds (according to Ookla Speedtest Awards). Providers offer symmetrical download and upload speeds. This means a 5Gbps plan can reach download and upload speeds of up to 5Gbps. All broadband internet connections in Singapore are suitable for emails, web browsing, social media, streaming services and online gaming.

Most homes should have more than enough download and upload speed from a 3Gbps fibre broadband plan. However, there’s money to be saved with 1Gbps plans. Consider 500Mbps plans for further savings (where offered).

Here are some common uses for different fibre M1 broadband internet speeds in Singapore:

1Gbps: Multiple 4K streams, seamless cloud interaction, multiple game streams.

M1 fibre broadband plan add-ons

M1 used to sell a range of devices as add-ons to its fibre broadband plans, but this is no longer the case (with the exception of Wi-Fi routers and mesh systems, of course). The only real add-on to speak of is M1's Static IP Service, which is mentioned on the provider's website, but no pricing information is given. For the most up-to-date information, check the M1 app if you're a current customer, or the website for a range of online-exclusive promotions.
