Some of the cheapest SIM-only plan options in Singapore are comparably priced, whether you opt for prepaid or postpaid. Note that some of these cheapest prepaid SIMs have data but may not include any call minutes or texts. That said, call and message allowances may not be as important if you're using data-based apps to call and text.
Mobile providers compete over data allowances, but you can get hundreds of gigabytes from cheap mobile plans for around $10. You might as well start with at least 100GB of data and adjust up as required. While 5G plans have the potential to be significantly faster than 4G plans, faster internet isn't as important for mobile apps as it is for home broadband.
