M1 just added a worldwide version of its affordable and flexible daily roaming data plan.
Just in time for the June school holidays, the Worldwide Daily Passport roaming add-on provides customers with 3GB of data over 24 hours for just $0.99. It’s available to use across 78 destinations worldwide, including Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
Working out to about $0.33 per GB used overseas, it’s excellent value, especially for travellers who are planning to visit multiple destinations.
To activate the Worldwide Daily Passport, head to the M1+ app. Select your roaming plan, select Daily Passport, then activate your Worldwide Daily Passport. The 24-hour clock will start when data is first used overseas, not at midnight, so there’s no stress about activation timing and battling time zones.
Once your 3GB is up, another 3GB will be automatically activated at $0.99. Additionally, data will only be added on days your data is used. If you’ve got a long-haul flight or your roaming is switched off, you won’t be charged.
While 3GB might not be enough to binge a whole season of your favourite show in 4K during a layover, it’s enough to support the essentials. You’ll still be able to use social media, message your loved ones back home, order a taxi, use maps or navigation, and stream the new Netflix blockbuster (just maybe not in 4K).
Otherwise, $0.99 is a drop in the bucket, and it’s easy enough to add more data if you need it.
To take advantage of the $0.99 Worldwide Daily Passport, you’ll need to be on a Bespoke Flexi phone plan or SIM-only plan. Here are the eligible M1 SIM-Only plans, so you can roam to your heart’s content:
