- Broadband provider FAQ
If you’re in the market for home internet, there are seven main providers to choose from. StarHub, M1, Singtel, MyRepublic and SIMBA are popular fibre broadband providers that also sell SIM-only mobile plans. ViewQwest and WhizComms are the two other internet providers worth considering.
Let's look into which provider is best for your needs.
Best broadband provider overall
If you're simply after the best internet provider in Singapore, it's hard to beat MyRepublic, particularly when it comes to performance, choice, and customer ratings. Not only does MyRepublic Broadband win 4 out of 5 categories in OpenSignal's testing and 3 out of 6 categories in Ookla's testing, but it's also tied in first place for customer satisfaction with a 4.3-star Seedly rating.
Although it's not as cheap as some of its competitors, MyRepublic makes up for it with flexibility. You can choose to bring your own router (as in the plans above) or pair your plan with anything from their huge range of networking equipment, game consoles, collectibles, and more. In addition to standard 3Gbps and 10Gbps plans, this telco also offers broadband plans designed for gamers with ultra-low latency.

Best cheap internet provider
On a budget? Look no further than WhizComms for Singapore's most affordable broadband plans. With prices starting from $24 per month plus $115.54 upfront for 2.5Gbps speeds, $28 per month for 3Gbps speeds and $28.80 per month for 10Gbps speeds, this telco blows the competition out of the water. WhizComms isn't tracked by OpenSignal or Ookla, but its 4.3-star Seedly rating (putting it in the number one spot with MyRepublic) speaks for itself.
Although these plans are quite bare-bones to keep prices low, you still get 180 days of free Entertainment Plus on CAST.SG. The plans above are all no frills, meaning you'll need to bring your own router, but WhizComms does offer a selection of routers if you need a new one.

Best no-contract broadband provider
To say contract-free broadband plans are uncommon in Singapore would be a huge understatement. For years, they simply didn't exist, and while availability has improved slightly, there's still only one option, which is the above MyRepublic 3Gbps plan. Unfortunately, it doesn't come cheap, with a monthly price of $49.99 and a hefty $302.97 upfront fee. Still, if you're not staying put long enough to justify a 12- or 24-month contract, it is an option.
Best internet provider for speed
MyRepublic has a great recent track record of offering some of the fastest fibre broadband speeds in Singapore. While the highly-regarded Ookla Speedtest doesn't currently track WhizComms and SIMBA, MyRepublic has a comfortable download and upload speed lead over ViewQwest, Singtel, StarHub and M1. It also regularly wins in four of five OpenSignal report categories: Download Speed, Peak Download Speed, Consistent Quality and Video Experience. Currently, the cheapest entry point into MyRepublic and its superior speeds is the TP-Link Wi-Fi 7 Router + 3Gbps plan, which costs $30.99 per month and $120.94 upfront.

Best broadband provider for entertainment bundles
Want to consolidate some bills? Singtel offers some of the best entertainment broadband bundles in Singapore. There are three plans to choose from, differing only in terms of internet speed and TV packs. All bundles include a Wi-Fi 7 router, home line, Android TV set-top box with one local language Singtel TV pack and five English Singtel TV packs. For the 10Gbps plan, you can also add a Singtel HBO Pak.
Additionally, all plans offer tons of extras. For the 5Gbps plan, you get 12 months of Broadband Protect and Amazon Prime, six months of HBO Max Standard, 3 months of Microsoft 365 Personal, and one month each of Parental Control Pass, Security Suite Triple Protect and Singtel Home Protect Flexi. Both 10Gbps plans also come with six months of Disney Plus Standard.

Best internet provider for gaming
MyRepublic claims to be the best fibre broadband provider in Singapore for gaming. Digging into the details, it’s clear that MyRepublic has a right to do this. MyRepublic gamer-branded fibre broadband plans have custom network routing for lower latencies to gaming servers in Singapore and in other countries. They also have live latency monitoring and are currently ranked by Ookla as the best broadband in Singapore for gaming experience.
The highlighted MyRepublic gamer plan above comes with unlimited data at up to 3Gbps symmetrical download and upload speeds for $45.99 per month and $61.04 upfront. Need more? You can upgrade to 10Gpbs for $59.99 per month plus $111.04 upfront, including a TP-Link Archer BE805 Wi-Fi 7 router for just $50.
Best no-frills (BYO router) broadband provider
Only three internet providers in Singapore offer BYO router plans: WhizComms, ViewQwest, and MyRepublic. Although we've highlighted WhizComms and MyRepublic already, ViewQwest is well worth a look as well.
This smaller telco was a joint winner of two OpenSignal awards (Consistent Quality and Video Experience) and also ranked the highest for Consumer Sentiment in Ookla's testing. They tend to offer 10 or 12-month discounts on all their 3Gbps and 10Gbps plans, which then revert to a higher ongoing price after that period. However, it's important to note that, in most cases, ViewQwest doesn't charge upfront fees.

Best internet provider for customer satisfaction
Because all internet providers use the same NetLink Trust fibre network to connect homes in Singapore, it’s important to look for other points of difference. For WhizComms and MyRepublic, that point of difference is their high levels of reported customer satisfaction, with a 4.3-star score on Seedly, ranking them joint first.
This satisfaction applies to any of these two telcos' plans, but we’re highlighting their most budget-friendly ones above. In third spot is M1, whose plans can be seen below.
