Less than two years after its launch, the streaming service snagged a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series with Ted Lasso, and an Academy Award for Best Picture with CODA. Not only did Apple TV Plus make history with the first Best Picture win for a film distributed by a streaming service, but it also marked the beginning of a new era of culturally adored streaming fare.

Apple TV Plus is one of the cheaper streaming services available in Singapore. By itself, an Apple TV Plus subscription is $13.98 a month. There’s a free trial on offer for new sign-ups, as well as three months free if you purchase an Apple device.

What can I watch on Apple TV Plus?

Apple TV Originals are undoubtedly the best part of an Apple TV Plus subscription. You’ll get access to trending shows like Mythic Quest, Severance, Ted Lasso, Murderbot, For All Mankind, The Morning Show, Slow Horses, Silo, Pachinko, Tehran, Foundation, Acapulco, Kpopped, and Little Voice.

Unfortunately, if you want access to most shows and movies outside of Apple's originals, you'll need to buy or rent them. Most movies cost $5.98 to rent for 48 hours once you start watching. However, you'll find some for $4.98 and others up to $24.98. The pricier rentals, like Ballerina, F1, and Superman, have likely just finished their cinema run.

If you're willing to look past the pain of a rental fee on top of a streaming subscription, you can rent hits like Sinners, Dune, Nosferatu, The Shining, I Saw The TV Glow, Hereditary, Heretic, and Midsommar.

How can I watch Apple TV Plus?

The Apple TV Plus app is available for all supported web browsers and mobile devices on iOS and Android. You can also stream Apple TV Plus via your smart TV or plug in your Chromecast or Fire TV Stick. Alternatively, you can download the Apple TV app on your PlayStation or XBOX console.

What are the best internet plans for Apple TV Plus?

If you want to be able to stream whatever you like without much of an issue, opt for an internet plan with a download speed of at least 100Mbps. Speeds of 1Gbps should be more than enough for most households. However, if you've several 4K streams going at once, or a gamer in your midst, it's worth upgrading to a 5 or 10Gbps plan.

If you like to stream while you’re out and about, or you use your mobile plans or data-only SIMs as your primary internet access, keep in mind that streaming your favourite show, especially in 4K, can cost you. If you want to stretch your data, you can adjust the quality and set it to HD (720p), but even then, you’ll need more than 10GB if you plan to indulge in more than a season of your comfort show.

Depending on the video quality, one hour of streaming can cost you up to 2.4GB of data. Conversely, three hours a night for a month will consume up to 74.4GB of data. The best way to ensure you have all the data you need, especially when it comes to streaming, is to opt for unlimited data. Rejoice, most plans nowadays come with unlimited data. However, if that’s not an option for you, we’d recommend at least 80GB.
