What is We Are All Trying Here about?
Hwang Dong-Man (Koo Kyo-Hwan) has been waiting two decades to make his directorial debut. With nothing to show for his career except an empty wallet and an inferiority complex, he meets Byeon Eun-ah (Go Youn-jung), a film producer. Known for her direct and at times harsh feedback, she strikes a deep connection with Dong-Man as their lives become intertwined.
At its core, We Are All Trying Here isn’t a story that champions the underdog. Instead, it shows how feeling seen and understood can abate your self-doubt. It’s emotional and cathartic, but also light-hearted, thanks to the comedic underlayer.
