In a bid to go toe-to-toe with Apple’s new iPhone 17 lineup, Xiaomi is set to launch its own 17 Series. Skipping the 16 line entirely, Xiaomi will jump from the 15 straight to the 17 series. The lineup will feature the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max, replacing the Ultra variant from previous years. Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing a Xiaomi take on the super skinny Air model.
CEO Lei Jun confirmed in a post on Chinese social media platform Weibo that he’ll address the naming and pricing speculations in a launch event keynote on Friday, the 25th of September at 7 pm CST. Aptly named ‘Change’, it’ll also share insights on Xiaomi’s new XRING O1 chipset.
Let's get into everything you can expect to see come the 25th of September, including new features, estimated Singapore pricing, and potential dates for pre-orders and release.
What will the Xiaomi 17 look like?
No speculation is needed; Xiaomi has already shared official images of the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max.

While we don’t have confirmation on the exact names of the Xiaomi 17 colourways just yet, it looks like we’ll have the choice of white, black, sky blue, and dusty pink, with the Pro available in a mauve shade, and the Pro Max available in forest green.
What new features will the Xiaomi 17 have?
One of the great upgrades to the Xiaomi 17 lineup is the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, set to rival the A19 Pro chipset in the iPhone 17 Series. Xiaomi has also snagged a pretty exclusive deal, so you won’t see rival phones with the chipset before October.
The Xiaomi Base 17 model and Xiaomi Pro will feature a 6.3-inch screen, while the Xiaomi Pro Max is expected to have a slightly larger 6.7-inch screen. The Pro and Pro Max models also have a screen on the rear that can display images, widgets, a clock, or a camera viewfinder, reminiscent of the Mi 11 Ultra’s secondary screen.
All models will reportedly come with a 50MP front camera, and likely a telephoto lens, ultra-wide, and wide-angle camera.
The Xiaomi 17 is said to pack a 7,000mAh battery, a sizeable upgrade over the 5,400mAh battery in the Xiaomi 15. The Xiaomi Pro will allegedly pack 6,300mAh, with the Pro Max packing the largest battery overall at 7,500mAh.
How much will the Xiaomi 17 cost in Singapore?
It's been a turbulent year for most of the world, particularly economically. Fortunately, you can count on “comprehensive upgrades without a price increase”, according to Xiaomi’s Lu Weibing. The 12GB+256GB Xiaomi 17 is expected to start at around $800 (CNY 4,499), with the Xiaomi 17 Pro likely to be priced between $900 and $1,100 (CNY 5,000–6,000), and the Xiaomi Pro Max is between $1,100 and $1,250 (CNY 6,000–7,000).
Singaporean prices are unknown at this point, as is whether the Pro and Pro Max will launch internationally. To give you an idea, here’s what the Xiaomi 15 launched in Singapore at:
Model | Storage | Price |
---|---|---|
Xiaomi 15 | 12GB+256GB | $1,099 |
Xiaomi 15 | 12GB+512GB | $1,199 |
Xiaomi 15 Ultra | 16GB+512GB | $1,699 |
Xiaomi 15 Ultra | 16GB+1TB | $1,899 |
For those planning to purchase their Xiaomi 17 on a plan, we expect StarHub and M1 to offer the lineup once it's released. We'll keep you updated, so refresh this page closer to release for exact plan information.
That said, your best bet value-wise is likely to be purchasing the phone outright and pairing it with a cheap SIM-only plan, like one of the below.
When is the Xiaomi 17 coming out in Singapore?
The Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max will launch in China at 7 pm CST on the 25th of September. As for a global release date, based on Xiaomi’s 15 series release, it’s reasonable to expect an October launch.
