HONOR is the latest brand to announce its next lineup of flagship devices, with the HONOR Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro launching in China yesterday, boasting upgrades to battery life, processing power, AI features and more.

Let's dig into all the essential information about the HONOR Magic 8 series, including Singapore pricing details and release date.

What does the HONOR Magic 8 series look like?

The HONOR Magic 8 series hasn't changed much in appearance from last year, however, there are a couple of key differences. First up, HONOR has added a new button dedicated to its onboard AI assistant, YOYO. Plus, it wouldn't be a new generation without a new slew of colours; Rising Sun Gold, Celadon Gaze (standard Magic 8 only), Asure Blue (Magic 8 Pro only), Snowy White and Velvet Black.

The base Magic 8 model sports a 6.58-inch OLED display while the Magic 8 Pro comes in at a larger 6.71-inch, but both offer a whopping 6,000nits of peak brightness.

What new features does the HONOR Magic 8 series have?

AI is HONOR's focus in the Magic 8 series, with a new dedicated AI button coming to both devices. Users will be able to summon the YOYO AI assistant instantly, whether that's a video call to find information about whatever your camera sees, or access to a secure AI-powered vault, similar to the Essential Space found on this year's Nothing phones.

As for cameras, there aren't any significant upgrades from the Magic 7 series. The standard HONOR Magic 8 sports a 50MP main lens, 64MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide lens. The HONOR Magic 8 Pro features the same ultrawide lens but an upgraded 50MP main lens with a larger sensor size and a 200MP telephoto lens capable of 3.7x optical zoom.

Both devices run on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor with 12GB of RAM, and both have received major battery upgrades, with the Magic 8 clocking in at 7,000 mAh and the Magic 8 Pro sporting a huge 7,200 mAh.

HONOR Magic 8 series Singapore price

Local pricing has yet to be announced, but we do have Chinese prices and last year's Magic 7 series pricing to go off. The HONOR Magic 8 starts at CNY 4,499 (approx. $815), while the HONOR Magic 8 Pro is priced from CNY 5,699 (approx. $1,034). Of course, international pricing is, as usual, expected to be higher.

For a better idea of what we can expect the HONOR Magic 8 series to cost in Singapore, let's take a look at the HONOR Magic 7 lineup release prices.

HONOR Magic 7 prices
Model Storage Price
HONOR Magic 7 12GB+512GB $1,399
HONOR Magic 7 Pro 16GB+1TB $1,699

If you'd rather purchase your HONOR Magic 8 on a plan, we expect SingtelStarHub and M1 all to offer the lineup once it's released. We'll update this page closer to a local release, so check back soon.

As per usual, though, the best value option is to purchase the device outright and pair it with a cheap SIM-only plan, like one of the below.
