July is turning out to be a battle of the foldables, with a new entrant into the Singapore market just weeks after the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7. Introducing the vivo X Fold5, vivo's thinnest, lightest and strongest foldable smartphone yet.
Weighing in at just 217g, the X Fold5 boasts the brightest display in any vivo foldable to date, capable of reaching 4500 nits on both the inner and outer screen. It's also stronger, with an aerospace-grade hinge, IPX8 and IPX9 water resistance, IP5X dust resistance, and 2nd-Gen Armor Glass.
Perhaps most impressive is the 6,000 mAh battery, which trumps that of its main competitor, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, at only 4,400 mAh. There's also support for 80W wired and 40W wireless charging for minimal downtime.
In terms of photography, vivo has collaborated with ZEISS to create a triple-lens camera system comprised of a 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, 50MP main camera, and a 50MP wide-angle camera. Additionally, both the interior and exterior displays house 20MP front-facing cameras.
Under the hood, the vivo X Fold5 is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
The vivo X Fold5 is officially available for order now in Singapore through Shopee and Lazada, currently with $300 off the RRP of $2,499.
