Can't stomach the thought of spending thousands of dollars on your next phone? Apple has officially launched its (somewhat) budget-friendly iPhone 17e, and this year, you're getting more bang for your buck.
Here's everything you need to know about the iPhone 17e, including Singapore price, release date, and features.
iPhone 17e Singapore price
Although the prices of most smartphones are trending upwards this year due to the ongoing RAM shortage, Apple has given consumers a bit of a reprieve, keeping the iPhone 17e at the same $949 price point as last year's iPhone 16e. In fact, this year you actually get more storage for the same price, as the 128GB model has been ditched in favour of a more generous 256GB storage variant.
For those in need of extra storage, the 512GB model comes in at $1,249.
iPhone 17e features
Looks-wise, the iPhone 17e is almost the spitting image of its predecessor. However, this year, a new Soft Pink hue joins the classic White and Black colourways.
The display tech is the same as that found in the iPhone 16e, although the 17e boasts the same Ceramic Shield 2 front as the rest of the iPhone 17 lineup, which promises three times better scratch resistance and reduced glare. On the downside, there's still no 120Hz refresh rate or Dynamic Island.
The iPhone 17e sports the same 48MP Fusion camera as last year, and unfortunately, it hasn't received the front-facing camera upgrade (including the Center Stage feature) as the rest of the iPhone 17 series.
The biggest update to the iPhone 17e can be found under the hood, thanks to the new AI-optimised A19 chip and C1X modem that Apple claims is twice as fast as the C1 modem found in the iPhone 16e.
Although battery life estimates haven't changed, the iPhone 17e offers a new advantage this year in the form of MagSafe. Unlike the iPhone 16e, the 17e is compatible with a huge range of MagSafe accessories, including wireless chargers, phone stands, wallets, and more.
iPhone 17e Singapore release date
Pre-orders for the iPhone 17e kick off tomorrow, 4 March, before becoming available from 11 March. For those looking to get the 17e on a plan, we expect Singtel, StarHub and M1 to offer it. Check back in a few days for confirmed availability.
